To help view text on the screen, most popular Web browsers and Operating Systems have features to allow a user to increase the text size or zoom into areas of the desktop. Below are some helpful tips to improve your viewing experience.

Windows XP Users
To change the font size of the text displayed in the Internet Explorer 6 (and higher) Web browser:

• Click View and Text Size

To change the font size of the text displayed in the Firefox 2.0 (and higher) Web browser:

• Hold the Ctrl button and press + to increase.
• Hold the Ctrl button and press - to decrease.
• Hold the Ctrl button and press 0 to return to normal.

To zoom in on a part of the screen:

• Use the Windows Magnifier application. To run, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Accessibility, and then click Magnifier.

If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, you may be able to zoom in and out by holding Ctrl while scrolling the wheel.

Mac OS X Users
To change the font size of the text displayed in the Apple Safari 2.0 (and higher) Web browser:

• Hold the Command button and press + to increase.
• Hold the Command button and press - to decrease.

To change the font size of the text displayed in the Firefox 2.0 (and higher) Web browser:

• Hold the Command button and press + to increase.
• Hold the Command button and press - to decrease.
• Hold the Command button and press 0 to return to normal.

To turn on zoom and set zoom options:

• Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Universal Access. Then click Seeing. Select the On button under Zoom.

When zoom is turned on, you use keyboard shortcuts to enlarge and reduce the screen image.

• Command-Option-equal (=) makes the screen image appear larger (zooms in).
• Command-Option-hyphen (-) makes the screen image appear smaller (zooms out).
