Vacation Bible School – August 13-17 2012

Volunteers

There are many ways to participate in this exciting week and the best part — volunteers can register their children now for free! We even provide a nursery for the volunteers’ little ones younger than three.

Whether you can join us the week of VBS or are available at other times, there is something for everyone to do:

  • Guides are placed with one group of children for the entire week.  They are responsible for greeting the children each morning, sheparding the children to each new activity (craft, play, lesson, snack, music), supervising the children in each place and releasing the children to their parents at the end of the day.  Overall they are primarily responsible for the children and help with anything they need.
  • Teachers will teach one lesson to 2 different groups each day.
  • Craft Coordinators will be in charge of organizing craft supplies, setting up the crafts and helping the children with their crafts.
  • Decorating Committee will be making decorations a few months before and decorating the church a few days before VBS begins.
  • Snack Shack leaders will help prepare the snack, distribute the snack and, with guides, help oversee the children during their time in the snack shack.
  • Play Coordinators will be in charge of setting up the organized games (i.e. relay races, water balloon tosses) for each day and then facilitating the games with the children.
  • Nursery caregivers will be taking care of the volunteer’s little ones, ages are 3 and under.
  • Clean Up Committee will help us take down the decorations once VBS is over.
